Clubs

Clubs and Shared Interest Groups (SIG)s are important benefits that give us an opportunity to join with other OLLI members who share similar interests. These groups are free to current members. The Writers' Group is not currently active. For more information about any of our clubs/SIGs contact the Club Chair.

Registering for clubs (excluding Wednesdays with OLLI) requires a two-step process.

Step 1: Register online as you would for a class.

Step 2: Send an email request to the Club Chair stating that you have signed up online and wish to be on their email list to receive additional information an/or a Zoom link if applicable.

This must be done each semester.

Men’s Group

We meet every two weeks on Fridays from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at a local restaurant, unless pandemic conditions indicate otherwise, in which case we meet via Zoom. We discuss issues and challenges faced by older men, share knowledge and expertise on a range of topics and socialize in an informal environment. Group meetings are self-directed. Responsibility for facilitating discussions is generally rotated among the participating members. For more information, contact Frank Alarcon, alarconfj@yahoo.com.

Walking Club

Come and join us on the many fabulous trails Tallahassee has to offer. For those that are new, we have three groups of walkers. The gentle walkers meet Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings at 8:30 or 9:00 a.m. and walk for about 1 hour at a leisurely pace. They walk on mostly paved or hard-pack surfaces. The intermediate walkers meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:00 or 8:30 a.m. and walk for 1-1 ½ hours for a distance of 3-5 miles, walking on more wooded trails which may have roots, grass or gravel but are usually shady. A few members, known as the “Crazy Ladies,” meet at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and walk at Cascades Park or in one of their neighborhoods for about 1 hour. We also have an Adopt-a-Street clean up along 6th Ave. once a quarter, which is strictly voluntary. Please register online for the Walking Club and then send an email to Debbie Justice,  DrDJO@yahoo.com, to be added to our email contact list and to receive the locations of our walking sites.
